The local Liberal MPP says the changes announced for OHIP will hurt Thunder Bay and the province.
Thunder Bay-Superior North MPP Michael Gravelle says it worries him to see some services no longer covered under OHIP.
“I haven’t gotten the full details of all the procedures that are being de-listed,” Gravelle admits, “But it concerns me that they’re even looking for more services to cut, and we can expect to see that in the next little while as well.”
The local MPP claims the OHIP changes show the provincial government is focused on cutting healthcare services.
“They may want to deny that, but clearly this information that we now have about OHIP services being de-listed makes it clear that’s exactly what’s happening.”
