July 8, 1994 – August 27, 2025

It is with broken and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved son, brother, and uncle Patrick. Patrick passed away unexpectedly on August 27, 2025, at the young age of 31. Patrick was born in Yellowknife, NWT, on July 8, 1994, and lived in many provinces and territories throughout his life. Thunder Bay has been his home for the last 10 years, where he joined North Star Air as a pilot, working his way up to Captain on the Dash-8 aircraft.

Patrick is survived by his mother Suzanne Parent, his father Steven McVarnock (Julie), his sister Chantale (Dillon), several uncles and aunts, nephews and his niece. Patrick’s extended family are situated throughout Canada, and in Belfast Northern Ireland.

Patrick was an avid outdoor enthusiast who enjoyed sports and adventure. Patrick had the patience of an angel, and was extremely kind and generous. An organization dear to his heart was the Owl Foundation, located in Ontario, in which Patrick made several contributions throughout the years towards in addition to other numerous not-for-profit organizations.

It became very evident in his childhood years that his passion was aviation. He pursued his dream and lived it to the fullest.

Patrick was loving of his family and friends until the very end. Patrick’s celebration of life will be held on Tuesday September 2, 2025 at 5PM at the Everest Funeral Home – Westfort Chapel, located at 420 West Gore Street Thunder Bay, Ontario .
