Mrs. Judith Elizabeth Ann Bentz, passed away peacefully at the T.B.R.H.S.C. on Tuesday, December 16, 2025. Judith was born in Kenora, Ontario on January, 13, 1938 and completed her primary and secondary education there. In 1960 she graduated from Physio and Occupational Therapy at the University of Toronto. She worked at Lyndhurst Lodge, Toronto, until 1961 when she married Peter and moved to Port Arthur in 1962. She raised her 4 children, and when the youngest was five years old she enrolled at Confederation College and graduated with a degree in Travel and Tourism. She then worked for Thunder Bay Travel for 15 years and then retired.
She was very active with Corpus Christi Church, singing in the choir, working on marriage enrichment courses and evenings for the engaged as well as being a member of the Catholic Women’s League (CWL). Her personal interests included gardening, gourmet cooking, playing golf and traveling. She played golf in North and South America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
She is predeceased by her parents, Dr. Eric and Gladys Apps, her brother Bob and her oldest son Jeffrey who died in a winter accident in 1979.
She is survived by her husband Peter, her sons Gregory (Carrie), Christien (Jean) and Evan as well as grandchildren: Jordan, Christopher, Kaitlyn, Thomas, Simon and Andrew; great grandchild Ariel, brother David (Mary), sister-in-law Lois Bentz as well as by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
We wish to extend thanks to the Alzheimer’s Society, Manor House Day Care, Ontario Health and Home, Paramed Ladies, Bayshore Services, Occupational Therapy Services, WesWay services, ambulance services, emergency room care and ward care at the Regional Hospital. Special thanks to Drs Sellick and Taha for their care and counselling. Special thanks to Father Terry Sawchuck for administering the sacrament of the sick and to Lois Bentz and Wendy Bell for all of their help.
