Joyce Marcilene Hanson (née Perrier)

It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Joyce Marcilene Hanson (née Perrier) on May 23, 2026, at the age of 86.
Joyce was born on April 16, 1940, in Port Arthur and grew up in Baird. She was the beloved daughter of Archibald Perrier and Marie Bonenfant.
Joyce was first married to Douglas Wright, who predeceased her on February 5, 1976. She later found love again and married Harold Earl Hanson on May 30, 1987. Together they shared many years of companionship, laughter, and family memories.
She will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Earl Hanson; her daughters Brenda (Richy) Webb, Bonnie (Harold) Hascher, Donna (Raymond) Pontynen, and Debra (Warren) Ferris; her siblings Esther Hamlin, Doris Armour, Rene Perrier, Alice Hodges, Gordon Perrier, and Janice Sitarski; and by her cherished grandchildren Shannon Lewis, Erin Sawyer, Ashley Cattani, Dana Elliott, Jason and Jeremy Pontynen, and Ella and Braylon Ferris.
Joyce was also a proud great-grandmother to Cameron, Reese, Hudson, Brennan, Oliver, Henry, George, Carson, Kingsley, Ryker, Bennett, and Luka, all of whom brought her immense joy.
She was predeceased by her son, Joseph Wright; and by her siblings Annette Scavarelli, Elaine Davidson, and David Perrier.
Joyce also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who will remember her with love and affection.
Joyce worked for many years as a merchandiser with Westfair Foods, where she was known for her strong work ethic and friendly nature.
Joyce found great happiness in the simple pleasures of life. She loved camping and fishing with family and friends, spending time tending to her flowers and gardens, and making treasured trips to Hinckley. She especially cherished time spent outdoors and the memories created with the people she loved most.
Joyce will be remembered for her love of family, her caring heart, her resilience, and the warmth she shared with everyone who knew her. Her family was her greatest pride, and the memories she created with them will be treasured always.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 27, 2026, at The Knights of Columbus-1:00 p.m
The family wishes to thank all those who provided care, comfort, and support during Joyce’s final days.
