With profound sadness we announce the passing of Giovina Ivanetic (nee D’Angelo) on April 16, 2026 at the age of 95. She passed away peacefully at Bethammi Nursing Home surrounded by loved ones.

Giovina was born on May 15, 1930 in Bisenti, Teramo, Italy to Achille and Ettera. She was one of seven children, and was the last surviving member of that incredible family.

She is now reunited with her husband, Philip (2019); her sister, Allegrina (2008); brother-in-law Francesco DiGiuseppe (2010); brothers, Antonio, Guerino, Ercole, Donato, and Rocco; sisters-in-law, Grazia, Gilda, and Antonietta.

Giovina leaves behind her son, Tony; her three grandchildren, Melissa, Andrea, and Nathan. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Italia, and Argentina.

She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She cared for and loved her entire extended family. She will be missed greatly by all.

In honour and celebration for the life of the late Mrs. Giovina Ivanetic, Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in ST. ANTHONY’S RC CHURCH (123 Hilldale Road), celebrated by Father Luigi Filippini. Entombment will follow in Our Lady of Charity Mausoleum at St. Andrew’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held in the Waverley Chapel of EVEREST FUNERAL HOME (299 Waverley Street at Algoma) on Monday, April 20, 2026 from 5:00 p.m – 7:00 p.m.
