Donald Charles Liddicoat

Donald Charles Liddicoat, known affectionately by all as Don, passed away on June 12, 2025, at the age of 68, in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Born on February 24, 1957, in Fort William, Ontario, Don’s warm spirit and zest for life left will be remembered by those he encountered.

Don dedicated many years of his life to his work as an optometric technician, a role in which he excelled due to his friendly nature and thoughtful approach.

Don was a man of many passions. A lifelong fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs, his rallying cry of “GO LEAFS GO!” could be heard every game night, much to the delight of his family and friends. His love for sports also extended to the bowling alley, and to the arcade, where his pinball wizardry was nothing short of legendary.

Don was a true outdoorsman, always ready for an adventure, whether it was a tranquil fishing trip or a leisurely stroll through the woods of Ontario. His hands were rarely still, as he found joy in tinkering with anything he could get his hands on, giving objects with new life and purpose.

Above all, Don cherished the time spent with his beloved pets and family. He is survived by his wife, Donna; daughter Shannon and son-in-law Jeff; son James; granddaughter Vanessa; daughter Jessica and son-in-law Jason; his younger brother, Brad and large extended family.

Those who had the pleasure of knowing Don would agree that he was the epitome of friendliness, handiness, and thoughtfulness. His presence was a comfort, and his ability to listen without judgment a rare gift.

Don Liddicoat’s life was one well-lived and full of love. He will be profoundly missed.

Rest in peace, Don.

Your memory will forever be a beacon of joy

and kindness in this world.

In accordance with Don’s wishes there will be no funeral service. A private, immediate family gathering will be held at a later date.
