March 25, 1962 – May 13, 2026
It is with broken hearts that we have to say goodbye to our beloved David. Dave passed away peacefully at home with the love of his life Corinne and big sister Debbie by his side.
Dave was first and foremost a family man who enjoyed being with and providing for his family. He loved when he was promoted to Grandpa.
In his younger years, Dave played minor hockey for North End Rec. He carried his passion for hockey forward cheering for his beloved Montreal Canadiens. Dave worked hard his entire life and took great pride in doing a job well done. He excelled as a machine operator at Great West Timber for 26 years, finishing his career with Dallan Forestry. Many of his co-workers gave him the nickname “Super Dave”.
Dave had a love for food that was evident as a cook at Corinne’s restaurant Corky’s. One of his specialties was making soup and he proudly gained the new nickname “Soup-er Dave”. If Dave wasn’t cooking, he was talking about food and googling recipes, but his favourite was of course eating a good meal.
For the last 18 months, Dave was a true fighter. Despite his health issues, he never lost his sense of humor and enjoyed everyone’s company. While at home, he was able to watch his favourite game shows Price is Right, Deal or No Deal and Family Feud.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife Corinne, children Justin (Ashley), Codey (Brigitte), Lindsey (Kyle), and Skyler. His grandchildren Krysten, Brayden, Jordan, Kamrie, and Axel. His siblings, Debbie (Darcy), Chris (Debbie), and Bryan (Maggie). Sister/brothers in-law Cindy (Mitch), Todd (Sherri), and Trevor. Along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Dave is predeceased by his parents Elsie and Ken Linklater, mother-in-law Teresa Finholm, and father-in-law Jack Little.
A Funeral service will be held on Friday, May 22, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. at the Sargent and Son Chapel, 21 N. Court Street. Those unable to attend in person may join the celebration via livestream at www.sargentandson.com.
Special thanks to the staff at Thunder Bay Regional Cancer Clinic and ParaMed. Especially to ParaMed nurses Dawn and Monica, who provided amazing care to Dave and such caring support for the family.
If desired, donations can be made to a charity of your choice in David’s name. Online condolences can be made at www.sargentandson.com.
