Funeral Mass for Mrs. Ada Futia who passed away Monday, December 8, 2025, was held on Monday, December 15, 2025, at St. Dominic’s Church, celebrated by Rev. Bonaventure Anaike assisted by Deacon Mike McBride. The readings were proclaimed by granddaughters Marlena and Alyssa. Prayer of the Faithful were recited by Marlena and great-grandaughters Jamie and Joelleen. The offertory gifts were presented by great-grandchildren, Jamie, Joelleen, Leo and Luka. Words of remembrance were spoken by Marlena and Alyssa. The church choir was in attendance accompanied by the organist, Debbie Wasylenko under the direction of Helene Nielson. Interment followed at St. Andrew’s Cemetery. A time of fellowship was at the Davinci Centre. Pallbearers were Christopher Racco, Darren Futia, Kevin Pruys, Dave Grassia, Fortunato Michelizzi, Robert Michelizzi and Brendan Phyllis.

The Family of the late Ada Futia would like to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Migay, Crystal Ahola, NP, V.O.N. nurses, especially Farrah, Owen and Janna for the care they gave our mom in her final months you are truly amazing, caring and compassionate people. Thank you also to the girls from Bayshore and Paramed. A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Nicole St. Jacques and Dr. Chris Francis and staff for the years of care they gave to our mom, your professionalism and kindness will never be forgotten.
To Father Bonaventure for visiting mom at home and for the thoughtful words of comfort during the funeral mass. Thank you to Deacon Mike McBride, Richard Ezack for assisting Father and to Helene Nielson and organist Debbie Wasylenko and to the choir for their beautiful voices. To Marlena and Alyssa for all their preparation for the readings, pictures, slide show and the beautiful tribute they gave their Nonni. To Jamie, Jojo, Leo and Luka thank you for bringing up the offertory gifts. Nonni was so proud of all of you. To family, friends, neighbours who sent flowers, trays of food, fruit baskets, baking, meals to our home, charitable donations, mass cards, all the phone calls, messages and emails and for your visits, we thank you for your generosity you shown to all of us. Thank you to everyone who attended the funeral to be with us at this difficult time. To the Davinci centre we thank you for the delicious lunch, to the staff of St. Andrew’s cemetery we thank you for preparing mom’s final resting place and to Greg Sargent and the staff at Blake’s Funeral Chapel, Sargent Family Funeral Homes, words cannot express how greatful we are for all your compassion, expertise and guidance and for making an overwhelming situation easier for us. Our mom was a woman of great kindness, strength, courage and always put her family and others before herself. We will hold her forever in our hearts and will miss her terribly until we are reunited again. We love you Mamma.
