A successful Novemburger fundraiser pulled in over $18,000 for the United Way.
Local restaurants compete against each other to sell limited-edition burgers during the month of November, with the proceeds going to the United Way.
Beefcake’s Burger Factory was the winner, and owner Derek Lankinen says he was glad to be a part of the fundraiser.
“I’d absolutely love to do it every year possible, if they would let me. I love being able to come up with something new for our patrons, as well as the spirit of friendly competition that exists during all Thunder Bay restaurant events,” he says.
Lankinen says the restaurant sold over 630 of their burgers for the fundraiser, almost double last year’s amount.
“Thunder Bay came out in droves this year, it is the most successful one ever,” Lankinen says.
The money goes to the RECOVER 2020 campaign, supporting organizations that have been impacted by the pandemic.
