NOMA Lobbying For Bus Service Funding

Loss of Greyhound Bus service isn’t sitting well with the head of one Northwestern lobby group.

Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association President Wendy Landry applauds Kasper Transportation filling Greyhound’s gap but notes they aren’t giving up their fight for transporation subsidies for the region.

“In order to be long term sustainable, we’ll still need to advocate for some subisidies in this part of the province. Because the reality is that the majority of Ontario already sees subsidies on their transportation systems withing other communities in their region, so the north west should be seeing that as well.”

Kasper announced recently they’ll be offering service from Thunder Bay to Winnipeg and further west and also east from Thunder Bay to White River.
