No news on the status of the idled mill in Fort Frances.
Resolute Forest Products had previously indicated it could have a tentative agreement by as early as May with a yet-to-be-named private firm to redevelop the site.
Fort Frances Mayor June Caul says she’s heard little snippets of things through the grapevine.
“I guess the most positive thing I can say right now is that nobody has come forward to get permits to start tearing it down.”
The mayor adds she hasn’t talked with officials at Rainy Lake Packaging either but knows they are still interested in the plant.
