No Injuries In Carbon Monoxide Leak

A faulty water boiler set off a carbon monoxide alarm in the 100 block of Winnipeg Avenue this morning.

Fire officials say they were alerted at six o’clock, and when they arrived they detected a carbon monoxide level of 961 parts per million–officials note that’s over 100 times the maximum amount considered safe for short-term exposure.

The home was evacuated and cleared of C-O, and Union Gas was able to shut off the natural gas to the home.

Firefighters say none of the residents had any signs of carbon monoxide poisoning.
