New And Familiar Faces Running For Council

Some new aspiring politicians are attempting to earn a seat on Thunder Bay’s city council.
Lakehead University student Austin Haner is throwing his hat in the ring for Neebing ward in the upcoming municipal election.
The 19-year-old political science at LU says he hopes to bring a youthful approach to council.
Haner says he also wants to improve infrastructure in Neebing.
Meanwhile, Christopher Hollins is taking a run at-large.
Hollins says some councillors have been around for too long, and need to make room for fresh faces.
Hollins says he also wants to create reasons to keep youth in the city in the future.
However, not all candidates are new to the political scene in Thunder Bay.
Former city councillor Dick Waddington is running in Current River.
Waddington says he doesn’t like what’s being done by the current council, and says repairing roads and sewer systems are far more important than spending money on public artwork.
Claudio Monteleone and Andy Wolff are also running for that spot.
