Multiple Charges Laid After Vehicle Stop

Thunder Bay OPP are charging a 25-year-old man with a number of charges after they stopped a prohibited driver.

Police say they found large sums of money, jewelry and marihuana in the vehicle.

A search of the suspect’s home in Shuniah resulted in the seizure of 50 pounds of marihuana, $95,000 in Canadian currency, $160,000 in jewelry, 12 gauge shotgun and a 2016 BMW SUV.

Charges include possession of property obtained by crime, possession of cannabis, possession of illicit cannabis, and careless storage of a firearm, among other alleged offences.

The man was released and has a court date in August 2020 in Thunder Bay.
