A Thunder Bay Liberal MPP believes the province’s stay at home order should have been lifted this week.
Michael Gravelle suggests because the Ford government is waiting until next week, businesses are suffering.
“There was no reason not to lift the decision this week, even one week can make a big difference,” explains Gravelle.
He notes we must make sure we can still contain COVID-19 adding “We have to be careful…but I do think, In my humble opinion that we could certainly go ahead with opening the small retail businesses.”
The MPP believes lifting the order this week would have allowed our ski hills to operate on the Family Day weekend.
The provincial government will announce on Tuesday which colour the Thunder Bay District will be under when the order is lifted.
