Mild Weekend Ahead

Get set for a weekend that could feel more like spring than winter.

Environment Canada’s Peter Kimbell indicates the high for tomorrow is forecast to be zero, and on Sunday we could come close to having a record-breaking day.

“The record high for the second of February, Groundhog Day, is plus eight…set in 1993 and we’re looking for a high of plus six,” says Kimbell.

However, the Environment Canada meteorologist says by early next week we will be back to more normal highs and lows for February.

That would be a daytime high of minus seven and an overnight low of minus 19 which is what is predicted for Tuesday and the rest of the month.
