McDonald’s, both in Canada and the U.S., is recalling the Step-it Activity Bands, recently distributed as part of Happy Meals. Reports of children receiving burns and skin irritations after wearing them promoted the recall.
McDonald’s stopped issuing the wristbands last Thursday. Customers who received one can return them to any McDonald’s restaurant for a free replacement toy and a choice of yogurt or apple slices.
Approximately 33-million wristbands had been manufactured.
