The mayor is happy to waive tipping fees of about $29,000 for the NorWest Community Health Centres, but wants to be reimbursed by the province.
The non-profit health care agency is in the early stages of an $8.3 million addition, and incurred some unexpected tipping fees for debris found when excavating for the new site.
Executive director Wendy Talbot says, because it is an unforeseen expense, the Ministry of Health won’t cover the costs.
Keith Hobbs says the Intergovernmental Affairs Committee will send a strongly-worded letter to the Minister asking for a refund, since it is the responsibility of the province. (File photo)
