Mayor Repeats Call For More Vaccines

The mayor is calling out the province over its handling of COVID-19 vaccines for the city.

Bill Mauro explains he is getting complaints about the online booking system the province has and what residents see as a lack of available vaccines in Thunder Bay.

Earlier in the month, he spoke with the health minister’s office about the vaccine rollout in the city and designating us at a COVID hotspot.

Mauro adds there are still many questions regarding our supply of the vaccine from the Province, especially why our city was not included in the vaccine rollout to pharmacies.

He insists we need assurances that the unique needs of the city and region are being addressed by the Province.

“I also believe the citizens of Thunder Bay deserve a clear and concise answer on why Thunder Bay was not placed on Ontario’s list of hotspots,” said Mayor Mauro.

Such a designation would help provide us with more resources to deal with the pandemic and more vaccines.
