Mayor Keith Hobbs has made it clear that an event centre for the city is something he will not give up on.
He made some light-hearted comments about it on Friday to an audience, when Provincial Minister of Culture and Sport Eleanor McMahon was in town handing out money to upgrade the baseball diamonds at the Pt. Arthur field.
McMahon says discussions will continue, and asked the mayor to keep talking to her federal counterparts.
She adds the mayor made a passionate pitch to her at the AMO Conference in Windsor recently.
