Lakehead University has just created a new scholarship for forestry and environmental studies.
It was announced Friday, honouring Dr. John Naysmith, to be given to a student who has completed 3rd year classes.
Julie Ieropoli is the 1st recipient, a native of Guelph, Ontario, who says the scholarship will help her do things she otherwise couldn’t, such as travel.
The scholarship is for students who demonstrate what the school says are the traits of Dr. Naysmith: leadership, willingness to listen and the ability to motivate and inspire others.
