Mayor Concerned By Three Murders In March

Thunder Bay’s Mayor understands the community is concerned about three murders that happened in March alone.

Bill Mauro tells us it’s shocking to some residents and hard for them to understand.

“City of Thunder Bay over the last ten years or so has seen a change with the crime levels and the type of crime. For those who have lived here a long time, that change is dramatic. We are going to continue to do what we can to make people feel good about where their homes are.”

The Mayor hopes the provincial and federal governments will provide funding to our local police force to help fight crime.

“We’re hopeful some additional assistance will be made available. Internally, we continue to discuss and look at opportunities to try and see what’s possible with the resources we already have.”
