I turned 29 this year, and somewhere between the birthday cake and a late-night chat with a friend, it hit me: I don’t want life to just happen to me — I want to co-create it. Not just the big stuff, like career or relationships. I’m talking about the fun. The sparkle. The moments that make people look at you and say, “You’re glowing.”So, I made a quiet little pact with myself: I’m going to manifest more fun. Not the wild, expensive kind (although never say no to a plane ticket) — but the kind that makes life feel rich, full, and intentionally joyful. The kind that makes you text your friends, “Can we please do that again?”
Enter: Supper Club
This is where the fun starts — quite literally — at the dinner table. A few months ago, my friends and I created something we now lovingly call Supper Club. Each month, one of us hosts. We pick a theme (Mediterranean escape? Pasta night in the garden? “Bridgerton” but with tacos?), and the host goes all in. Food, decor, vibe — pure, themed magic.
It’s silly, special, and soul filling. It reminds me that fun doesn’t always need plane tickets or packed itineraries — sometimes, it’s just candles on a table, wine in a mismatched glass, and a room full of people you love. I’ve also started seeking smaller moments — sneaky little pockets of joy that are easy to overlook. Like saying yes to a midday walk with a friend. Or eating lunch outside. Or dancing in my kitchen like I’m starring in a music video no one asked for. This kind of fun isn’t about impressing anyone. It’s about being in your body, your life, and the moment. It’s about choosing magic — even when nothing “big” is happening.
Creating My Own Magic
I’ve realized I don’t want to wait around for fun to show up. I want to create it. I want to be the reason a night feels unforgettable or why someone belly-laughs after a long day. It doesn’t take much — just a little intention, a little courage, and a sprinkle of cheekiness. So here I am — almost 30, and fully committed to being the curator of my own joy. And maybe, just maybe, inspiring someone else (you?) to do the same.Go on. Pick a theme. Text your friends. Light the candles. Life’s too short not to make it a little magical.
Next week…. Swanky Steak Night – The Supper Club!
