Man Charged With Assaulting Officer

A 22-year-old man is charged after police say he assaulted them.

Police tell us the man refused to cooperate with security officials at the Thunder Bay Courthouse. They say the man did not empty his pockets before going through the metal detector as required.

Police escorted the person outside at which point he is accused of throwing coffee at the officer.

After a short foot chase, two assault-related charges were laid.

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
