Man Charged After Trying To Escape Police

Attempting to speed away from police has resulted in trouble for a 39-year old Alberta man.

If you were at the intersection of Highway 11/17 and the 61 Sunday night, just after 6 o’clock, you saw provincial police take the man into custody.

Police tell us it started with a traffic complaint on the 11/17 in the Conmee Township area. They caught up with the vehicle as it headed toward Thunder Bay, but it sped off, and police called off the chase for safety. That’s when they radioed ahead, and the arrest was made.

The man has a court date in Thunder Bay in October.

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
