Nobody was hurt after a machinery fire at the Resolute sawmill on Darrel Avenue.
Thunder Bay firefighters arrived at the mill around 9:45 Friday night and found smoke coming from the pellet plant.
Crews put out the flames, which were contained to the machinery and wood fiber.
They say it was likely caused by overheating machinery.
The fire service credits staff at Resolute for alerting fire crews early and helping them access and contain the fire.
