Lockdown Status Likely To Remain

Medical officer of Health Dr. Janet DeMille tells us all the indicators show the province is not likely to take us out of the Grey-Lockdown area.

“I guess it depends on how much it actually drops and shows some stability at a lower level before decisions would be made before we would go to Red,” explains DeMille adding “We are still very much in the Grey area so I am not expecting any change for this coming weekend.”

The Thunder Bay district has been in the Grey-Lockdown zone for about a month when at the time there were about 350 active cases of the virus and we were getting daily case counts in the 60 range or higher.

While Wednesday’s case count is substantially lower at 25 there are still just under 300 active cases in the district and that appears enough to keep health and government officials wary of loosening our pandemic restrictions.
