A charge of second degree murder has been laid against a 36-year old Thunder Bay man in connection to a homicide at the Midtown Inn.
Police say Denis Terry Bernard remains in custody after a bail hearing Monday morning, following the death of Paul Winnifred Vivier of Victoria, BC. Police add the two men knew each other.
It was late Saturday night when police were called to the north end hotel, where the 29-year old victim was found hurt, and later died at hospital.
Police remain at the scene, and have not given the cause of death, or motive. An autopsy is taking place Monday in Thunder Bay.
It is the city’s sixth murder of the year.
