Local Dairy Gets Provincial Honour

Slate River Dairy is being highlighted by the province for a unique piece of equipment.

The local business received an Honourable Mention for Excellence in Agriculture from the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.

It’s recognizing a modified butter churn that the province says is one-of-a-kind in Canada.

It churns butter and pasteurizes milk at the same time, reducing waste at the dairy and increasing sales.
