Linking Music To The Local Economy

Musicians in the city are hoping it’s the beginning of a journey.

This week a number of them got together with the business and tourism community to discuss how musicians can become a part of the local economy.

The meeting was organized by the Chamber of Commerce.

President Charla Robinson says it was a first step which can now be taken to the next level by putting together an organizing group.

The chamber will be gathering all the data from the meeting and then asking participants what are the priorities and what should be worked on.

Robinson says the event wasn’t just a “one off” but notes, the ideas discussed could take years to develop. (Photos supplied)
