The prime minister appears to have had enough.
Justin Trudeau has outsted Jody Wilson-Raybould and Jane Philpott not only from the federal Liberal caucus, but the party.
It followed the release last week by Wilson-Raybould of a conversation with Clerk of the Privy Council Michael Wernick, a conversation which was recorded without his knowledge.
For Trudeau it was the final straw.
In a statement this evening he said, “The trust that previously existed between these two individuals and our team has been broken, whether it’s taping conversations without consent, or repeatedly expressing a lack of confidence in our government or me personally as leader.”
There has been no comment as yet from Labour Minister and Thunder Bay Liberal MP Patty Hajdu.
Earlier this week she was quoted as saying Wilson-Raybould’s secret recording of her conversation with Wernick was “unethical.”
