Students Learn Bus System

As part of the Wake the Giant festivities taking place this week students who are new to Thunder Bay took part in an “Amazing Race” type challenge on the City’s transit system.

They learned how to navigate the City and Northern Nishnawbe Education Council spokesperson Matthew Tilbury tells us the kids had fun but also learned important lessons about the bus system.

“It’s a huge safety concern and so having them learn today in a safe controlled environment is really good. We want to make sure they are comfortable in getting around town.”

Teams were made up of students from northern communities and were made to stop in at businesses around the community that have “Wake The Giant” stickers on their windows and doors.
