House Fire Leads To Arson Charge

A 22-year-old Thunder Bay man is charged with arson in connection to a recent house fire.

Police were originally called to a disturbance in the 2100 block of West Arthur Street at about 3:15 on Friday afternoon where they were told there could be weapons involved.

Shortly after officers arrived they say a man was on the roof of a house that was fully engulfed in flames and who then jumped onto an attached garage.

The man eventually made it to safety and was taken to a hospital for a medical assessment.

Police tell us they are not releasing the name of the accused person to help protect the identity of the victims.
