Horwath Supports Vaccines For Teachers

With less than two weeks until the start of a new school year, the Ontario NDP say more needs to be done to ensure a safe start.

Leader Andrea Horwath says there are several steps the government needs to take.

“Making sure vaccines are mandatory, making sure that not only do we have ventilation improvements, but that there are actual standards and reporting around those,” Horwath lists. “As we’ve said many, many times: smaller class sizes.”

“Doug Ford still refuses–notwithstanding the concerns of parents, educators, kids– to mandate vaccines in our schools, and that’s a huge problem.”

In a news release, all four teachers’ unions also say teachers, education support workers, and other school staff support mandatory vaccinations in schools.
