The clothing store Hey Sailor is shutting down.
The owners say they are closing their doors Sunday at four o’clock, after operating since 2015 selling vintage-inspired women’s clothing, shoes and accessories.
They explain the store wasn’t able to qualify for any of the federal or provincial assistance programs for businesses affected by COVID-19. On top of that, the two owners say they rely heavily on the sales they would usually make in the spring and early summer in order to stay afloat.
The owners explain they are grateful to their customers and appreciate the community that formed around the store.
