There still is no confirmation when our district will get doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine.
It’s something Mayor Bill Mauro indicated would be happening this week, but Federal Health Minister Patty Hajdu doesn’t have answers.
When asked about the timeline, she points out that as a federal minister, she doesn’t control where and when the province chooses to distribute the shots.
“Now, having said that, I spoke with [Provincial Health] Minister Elliott last week,” Hajdu says. “Of course she’s very concerned about the region as well, and I know she’s working with local leaders right now on supporting the region, including with the potential addition of additional vaccines.”
