Hajdu Switches From Health To Indigenous Affairs

Patty Hajdu has a new portfolio in cabinet.

The Thunder Bay-Superior North Member of Parliament becomes the Minister of Indigenous services and Minister responsible for FedNor.

“I look forward to working with my Parliamentary and Cabinet colleagues as we begin this 44th Parliament. I am also eager to get started in my new role and continue the important work ahead alongside First Nations, Inuit, and Métis partners,” Hajdu said, in a statement released Tuesday.

Hajdu added, “I would like to say thank you to the team at Health Canada, the Public Health Agency of Canada, Dr. Theresa Tam, Dr. Howard Njoo, and my ministerial office staff for your exceptional work and determination throughout this pandemic.”

Hajdu took on the Health portfolio just months before the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
