Hajdu Ready To Take Her Seat

Patty Hajdu says she expects to be very involved in getting the ball rolling on an inquiry into missing and murdered aboriginal women, as the Minister of Status of Women.

The Thunder Bay MP was sworn into the new Liberal cabinet earlier this week.

Hajdu does say, however, that her Ministry won’t be doing it alone, as the issue crosses a number of platforms.

Hajdu adds three key areas of her Ministry include economic development for women, eliminating violence against women and supporting women to move forward in leadership roles. She’ll receive a mandate letter from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in the next few days, outlining the priorities of her post. (File photo)
