Astronaut Chris Hadfield is making the most of retirement after his successful career as an astronaut.
Hadfield is in the city today to speak at the Community Auditorium.
He says that travelling across Canada is a special delight for him since he gets to see the uniqueness of every city he visits and how combined we have make up a great country.
He notes that in Thunder Bay we are currently discussing a proposed event centre and singled out the bio-medical work we are doing and the prospect of mining opportunities in the region..
Hadfield says he enjoys using his status in the country to influence young people in their career choices for the future.
He says being celebrated for the work he does is a good way to come home after being away for 25 years. (Photo: Vic Krasowski)
