Gas Pump Sticker War Drags On

There are no plans to back down on a sticker campaign to show the cost to motorists of the federal carbon tax program at the pumps.

Gas stations will be forced to display the the stickers or face a $10,000 fine for every day they don’t.

NDP Energy critic Taras Natyshak says the government’s only sticking it to small business owners and taxpayers.

“You know it takes a lot of work to come up with an idea so bad that it units everyone from Greenpeace to the Chamber of Commerce against it.”

Energy Minister Greg Rickford says Ontarians deserve to know what the tax is costing them.

“We will not lose an opportunity, Mr. Speaker, to make sure the people of Ontario understand how much this job killing regressive carbon tax is costing them, Mr. Speaker, period.”
