Fort Frances Keeping Cherry Display

No plans by the town of Fort Frances at this time to remove a display featuring one of Don Cherry’s suits in light of his firing from Rogers/Sportsnet.

The display has been at the Memorial Sports Centre since 2011.

The suit was donated by the late Sharon Tibbs after the former town councillor won it at an auction in London, Ontario.

Town officials say they’ve had no complaints from anyone about it since Cherry’s firing.

Cherry was let go for controversial comments made in Saturday’s broadcast of Coach’s Corner, critical of immigrants who don’t wear poppies.
