The city’s former Chief Librarian is taking legal action against the board.
Gina La Force is suing for wrongful dismissal claiming she was fired without cause. She wants 55 thousand dollars for a half year’s salary and moral damages in the amount of 75 thousand dollars.
At the time she was let go in 2011, the board said it was to do with her management style. No one from the library board has returned our call regarding a reported statement of defence.
None of the allegations have been proven in court. The case will be back before a judge in May of next year.
