The Ford government is keeping an eye on the COVID-19 outbreaks at the Thunder Bay District Jail and Thunder Bay Correctional Centre.
In an interview with Acadia Broadcasting Premier Doug Ford noted it’s on their radar.
“I had a conversation with the solicitor general she is all over that. I know they have the support in there right now and we are going to continue supporting,” said Ford.
The premier is hoping to get employees at the facilities vaccinated adding “I’m always concerned about the prisoners, but I’m more concerned about the correctional officers and getting them vaccinated as soon as possible.”
The outbreaks are showing no signs of easing up any time soon with 21 new coronavirus cases being reported today at the jail and two at the correctional centre.
