High water levels on Lake Superior are causing the Lakehead Region Conservation Authority to continue its flood watch.
The beginning of September saw water levels 2 centimetres below the record high set in 1950, however, the level is currently 30 centimetres above average for September and 18 centimetres higher than the level last year.
The main concern during high lake levels is shoreline erosion and flooding of low-lying shorelines including beaches and wetlands.
