Flood Outlook Issued, Water Levels Up

Today’s rainfall has the Lakehead Region Conservation Authority issuing a flood outlook statement.

They say water levels are up slightly because of the recent rain and snow melt.

Officials add they expect levels to rise more overnight, noting we’re expected to get another 20 to 25 millimetres.

The statement is in effect for the city, the municipalities of Neebing, Oliver Paipoonge, Shuniah, and the townships of O’Connor, Conmee, Gillies, and Dorion.

They’re asking you to use caution around waterways.

Officials say they will keep an eye on the situation as the rain continues.
