A warning from Thunder Bay Fire and Rescue not to use emergency flares for any purpose other than an emergency.
The fire department tells us it, along with police and Canadian Coast Guard, were called Sunday night at around 10:30, to Shipyard Road, over reports two flares were seen beyond the breakwall.
The coast guard called in a Hercules plane from Winnipeg to search the area using infra-red technology, but no one was found.
