The province is doing what it can to help the Finnish Labour Temple.
The Bay Street Film Festival was the recipient of $140,000 in provincial money over the weekend – money they say will be used to help fund facility upgrades to the Finlandia hall. The film festival has been using the hall for the past 10 years.
Association secretary Heleena Stephens says those upgrades will do more than just help the film festival with its events – it’ll hopefully attract new community partners.
She notes partnering with groups is the only way the Finnish Labour Temple will sustain itself for the future.
