The Canadian Blood Services wants to diversify it’s stem cell registry.
Spokesperson Jillian Alder says, in particular, they’re facing a critical shortage of aboriginal donors.
Alder says, while it’s OneMatch registry has about 300,000 donors across the country and it’s international network recently surpassed the 25 million donor mark, less than one per cent are aboriginal.
