The Old Farmer’s Almanac has released its long range forecast for the upcoming winter for northwestern Ontario and if you like snow and cold this could be the winter for you.
Managing Editor Jack Burnett says solar science and sun spots are behind their weather forecasts which are typically 80 percent accurate. Burnett says while it may be a traditional winter, it likely won’t get underway until late December.
Burnett expects the coldest periods will be late December, January and mid-February and snowiest periods in the second halves of December, January and February.
