Every Child Matters Flag Stolen

Thunder Bay Police want your help finding those responsible for taking an Every Child Matters flag from a south side property.

Three men were seen at 10:45 a.m. Monday at the Gore Street West location when one of them, dressed in black with a black hat and mask, ripped down the orange flag and walked away with it.

The motivation of the theft has not been confirmed, and is part of the ongoing investigation.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the event to call 684-1200.

You can also submit tips anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, or online here at www.p3tips.com.

Thunder Bay Police recognize there have been conversations across social media platforms discussing incidents of vandalism of signs or flags supporting the Indigenous and LGBTQ2S+ communities.

They urge anyone who has been a victim of a crime to come forward, and specify in the report whether you believe it was a result of you being targeted because of your racial or social demographic.

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
